The voice coil actuator (VCA) is used as an actuator in circuit breakers that require a faster response because there is no reduction of thrust force uring operation. Under fast response conditions, the circuit breakers in power transmission systems have both high-speed driving and highload eneration, so the dynamic characteristics of the actuator are important. In this paper, a fast and precise method to predict the electromechanical ynamic characteristics of a VCA is proposed. Through a 3-dimensional equivalent magnetic circuit network (3-D EMCN), the parameter map for electrical parameters is calculated, and voltage and motion equations predict the operating time, stall current, and thrust force. The validity of the alculated results is verified by experiment.
