When the PMDC motor rotates, the friction between the brush and the commutator causes electrical and mechanical losses.
Therefore, to accurately predict the characteristics of a PMDC motor, the influence of the brush have to be reflected.
However, it is difficult to predict the contact resistance and the friction coefficient by the brush because of the large non-linearity.
Therefore, in this paper, PMDC motor is experimentally measured and friction coefficient and brush resistance are calculated through mathematical modeling.
Based on this, PMDC characteristics are predicted and compared with experimental data.
